I just found the coolest idea for photo backgrounds! This is paper made to look like wood flooring! With winter coming, this will be a great alternative for the pictures I take of my little skirts, onesies and diaper mats, that I can do inside. Jessica over at Happy together shared lots of fun ideas for photo backgrounds on her blog. I just oredered this one, and I can't wait to use it!

On a side note, I just finished this adorable Christmas skirt for a customer and had to share. I just love how it turned out!

I have been selling little skirts in my shop for a while, but now I have a new design that I just love!

If you know me, you know I am a serious fabric-aholic! My stash was starting to get a little out of control and my sewing room was super messy because of it. So, my hubby said I had to use up my stash before I bought any new fabrics. That was several months ago and I am happy to say, it is time to stock up again! Fabric.com was having a sale on all of their freespirit and westminster fabric lines and if you spend $35 or more, you get free shipping! I had to make an order of course. Here's my loot...can't wait to get sewing, just wishing I had bought more!

New Labels

I have been wanting to do labels on my aprons for a while now but I wasn't sure what the best choice was. When I found this tutorial online, I ordered my own labels right away!
I just love that I got to design them myself and they are in color! Thank you to Kate for your awesome idea!

Maternity leave has been nice but I miss my little shop! Paisley pockets will re-open on Friday June 17th. I have been busy sewing and will be listing lots of new aprons for adults and little girls.

Born April 8th, 7 pounds 10 ounces. We are so very in love with our new little addition! Newborns are a lot of work but I haven't forgotten about my Etsy shop. I would love to start sewing again but right now, I just don't have the extra time. My shop will re-open in the middle of June.

Changing mats...

I have added a new item to my store inventory...diaper changing mats! I have sold these in my shop in the past and now they are back. These might be my favorite items in my store because they are just so cute. The mats are foldable and reversible and snap shut to easily store in your diaper bag. The apron shop has been so doing well lately, I thought it would be a great time to have a customer appreciation sale. All you have to do is enter this code: Sale20 when you check out and you will get 20% off everything in my store!

I have some new spring aprons in for little girls. They would be so cute tucked into an Easter Basket.

Also, don't forget...my shop will be closing on March 28th for about a month as I get used to life with a new baby and my 2 little boys. It will be a transition but nothing can keep me away from sewing for too long!

New Apron Design!

So, I thought it was time to come up with a different apron design. I am so happy with how it turned out, hopefully you will love it too! This apron is a more traditional cut but has a higher waist for a nice flattering fit. The waist band is extra wide to accentuate your waist. What I like about it is, that I can wear it as a maternity apron (I am 7 months pregnant and expecting our first girl!). (this is me and all my big belly glory!)
At the bottom of the apron, I added to little fray ruffles that complete the look. Now available in my shop!

The Holidays are coming...

and I couldn't be more ExcITeD! To welcome Christmas, I am adding stockings to my shop. They will be listed this weekend. I got the idea from a catalog that I get called Ballard designs. I totally fell in love with the stockings they had in there but I didn't want to pay so much for them so, I made some of my own. Hopefully you like them too! They are made from felted wool and have a cute little snowball fringe.

My little 5 month old is now eating baby food and rice cereal so I thought I would make some bibs for him. Well, they were so much fun to make, I couldn't stop. They turned out pretty darn cute I think! They will soon be featured in my Etsy shop.

Here's a new apron design! I was getting tired of cutting fabric on the floor and forgetting my pencil on the table, or being at the ironing board and leaving the scissors at the sewing machine. This apron has lots of pocket space for all of your crafting needs.

What I love about this apron is, the tie wraps around and ties in front and my favorite part is the little applique birdie. So fun!

I am sending this one to a boutique show this weekend and if it does well, then they will be added to my Etsy shop.

About 2 months ago, I was contacted by Terry Grahl from Enchanted Makeovers wondering if I would like to be a part of their "2009 Celebration of Cooking Event". This is a foundation that helps girls who are victims of abuse or neglect. Paisley Pockets was able to donate some aprons and help out the cause. Check out the pictures from the event here. Yes, I am still alive! On May 7th, we welcomed our second child to our family. He is such a joy to have and we are already so in love with him. Meet my little Logan:

Isn't he just delicious?! He is now 8 weeks old and though I don't have lots of time to sew anymore... he is so worth it!

I got invited to be a vendor at Sweet Tweets Boutique. It is a really big boutique show that hosts 50-75 vendors all selling beautiful handmade items. I am way excited about it so come by and order a custom apron from me or take one of my ready made ones. Paisley Pockets will be doing 2 shows:

I had a request to make aprons for kids. Here are a couple that I have made so far...

This is my cute little boy modeling for me. The boy aprons are pretty quicka and easy to make so they are $8.

The little girl aprons are the pink paisley fabric I have used before in the full aprons below. So mommy and daughter can match. These are a little more work so they are $10
